Cas Anderson has been writing for theatre for almost twenty years. She often works collaborativley - working with community groups/ students to generate writing in the final script. The result is a script that many of the collaborators feel ownership of. Cas was founding Artistic Director of Back to Back Theatre and is now Head of Performing Arts, University of Ballarat TAFE Division.

Five Brothers, The

Synopsis:
The story of five brothers, five sisters who are also princesses, their father the king of all Chile and a terrible giant, Old Long Arm, who lives on the Island of Ivories. When the youngest princess is stolen by the giant, the brothers and the remaining princesses journey through forests and oceans to save her. Using contemporary language, music, surreal imagery and lots of action, The Five Brothers captivates children.

Trembling

Synopsis:
The play tells the story of Trembling, a girl tormented by her two beautiful sisters for being fat and ungainly. They force her to take a seemingly impossible quest to save their father. She travels through remnant forest where she encounters giant bull ants, an old man with an obsession for solving Rubiks Cubes, a fish who turns into a boy and a revolting prince. As she travels she uses her kindness, cleverness and patience to solve problems, overcome obstacles and successfully complete her quest.
