Some stood poised to benefit from this change-personally, ideologically, financially. Others, especially the elderly, struggled to come to grips with its meaning. the Russian National Postal Service presents the story of one man in the midst of these historical events: Ivan Sidorovich Zhukov. as he gets older, Ivan Sidorovich's world grows smaller and smaller. He has lost his wife and his friends. Post-Soviet inflation has devalued his pension. even his television set has broken down. the routines and the certainties that once sustained him have now completely collapsed. | |||||
