Naughty Like Nice

Synopsis:
Naughty Like Nice' is a naturalistic play set in an apartment near the city. Three young women (two sisters and a friend) have lived and shared each others lives for a year now. a young man, Danny, enters (or re-enters) their lives and each young woman in turn is affected by him. This play is witty and stylish. there are raw moments, funny moments, and moments that move you. This play was written by taking a 'slice of life'. It could be a true event revealing to an audience how three young women react to unforseen surprising situations. It opens on New Years eve, one of the women has just made it home, one hasn't even contemplated returning yet, while the other finds the confines of their home safe and too hard to leave. This situation explores the inner workings of each character. the young man, the visitor, touches each of the young women's lives emotionally and psychologically. This provokes the Dramatic narrative of the play.

Wanna Play

Synopsis:
When the game of life is dangerous, uncertain and no longer fun, and all you have left is to dream of hope. In a town far from the city of beaches live five (17-18) teenagers. Sally (17), the main character, (whose dream is to leave the town and live near the beach), lives with her mother, Darlene. their relationship is difficult and laced with violence and a near rape, due to the presence of Darlene's boyfriend, Ross. Sally finds hope in her many books that she constantly reads. For her they represent an anchor, a parent and a teacher. then there is adrian, Sally's aboriginal boyfriend. Sally keeps him at arms length so as not to interfere with her dream. adrian (18) is a sensible young man, his love for Sally is evident, as is his love and respect for his mother, Trudy. Trudy's influence shines through adrian. theirs is the only grounded relationship through this play. adrian's best mate (since the beginning of school) is Joey (18). Joey's life is the complete opposite to adrian's. Joey's mother and Father are not in his life, and his older brother has been charged for robbery and is on his way to jail. Joey is in desperate need of some proper influence - unfortunately he never receives it. His girlfriend, Rachel (17) and Sally's best friend, is desperately looking for love and male attention. She likes the town and all its faults, as it is a place where she feels she can belong. She falls pregnant to Joey, finally allowing herself to feel important enough to make some strong, yet deadly decisions. She wants to 'love something that's going to love me back', much to the dismay of Sally. When Joey's attention wanes she finds solace in Sean (18), friend to Joey and adrian. Sean is infatuated with Rachel. Fears and admires Joey, and tries to fit in to their close knit group. Sean doesn't have the future worries as the rest of the 'gang'. For his parents are the town doctor's, and he will no doubt follow their career path. the journey this story takes the audience on is laced with humour, though at times it is dark. there are struggles to overcome and issues to face. each character has a dream, and each dream is challenged, as they face death and abuse. Though Sally's journey is one of hope, she needs to dig deep to find her strength, especially when she nearly loses everything.
