        Between Dog And Wolf

Between Dog And Wolf

Synopsis:
This play, banned by the Communists in 1979 after its fourth performance, made a triuphant return to the stage in June 1989. Its hero is the first of the cursed poets, Francois Villon, and its story that of his life-ling inner struggle "between the dog and the wolf," or between his tame life in society and the lonely life of an individualist, an artist with inner freedom. the play is given the Brechtian framework of a modern court case against Villon. the reconstruction of his life does not, however, lead us to any solutions, but rather to more and more questions, which are piled on top of the fundamental problem of the conflict between the individual and society in the world of feudal power - but also in a totalitarian system.
