Red And Black, The

Synopsis:
the Red and the Black is set in a small village near the French Alps in 1828, at the height of the royalist restoration. Here we meet an impoverished 19-year old, Julien Sorel. Because he has been taught perfect Latin by the town priest, the town mayor offers him the position of tutor to the mayor's sons. Complications arise when the mayor's beautiful wife becomes infatuated with Julien's charm--but Julien views her only as a member of the hated aristocracy and begins planning to take advantage of her affections to get revenge.

Sheik, The

Synopsis:
inspired by Irish playwright Richard Steele's 1703 comedy the Tender Husband. the following description is from the show's press release: "at the beginning of the Sheik, a wicked advertising executive has fallen in love with his innocent young secretary and gotten her pregnant. the problem: he's already married. the solution: he hires a gay employee to have a documented affair with his wife in anticipation of a quickie divorce. But when the gay employee decides to accomplish his task by impersonating an oil-rich sheik, will the wife see through the charade?"
