Matthew Bulgo trained at LAMDA and works as an actor and playwright. Credits as a playwright include: Constellation Street (The Other Room); Last Christmas (Dirty Protest/Theatr Clwyd, Edinburgh Fringe/Soho Theatre), The Knowledge (Dirty Protest/Royal Court, 'Surprise Theatre' Season), My Father's Hands (Paines Plough, Come To Where I'm From), Lacuna (Three Streets Productions, New Wimbledon Studio). His play #YOLO will feature as part of the National Theatre Connections 2017 festival. In addition, he has written short plays for National Theatre Wales, Dirty Protest, Not Too Tame and Ugly Sisters among many others. He was the recipient of the Best Playwright award at the Wales Theatre Awards 2015 and his debut play Last Christmas was nominated in the Best Production category at the inaugural Theatre Critics of Wales Awards. Matthew is currently working on a seed commission for National Theatre Wales among other projects. He is an Associate Director of Dirty Protest.
