Rick's Bar Casablanca

Rick's Bar Casablanca

Synopsis:
-

Notes:
Casablanca loosely based on the play "Everybody Comes To Rick's" The play is by Murray Burnett And Joan Alison. In 1991 in was revived or possibly put on for the first time in London under the title: "Rick's Bar, Casablanca" And As such it is listed on doollee under both Burnett And Alison. There seems to have been some sort of wrangling between Warner Brothers And Burnett And Alison. WB did - I think claim that the play was not A basis of the film And then that Burnett And Alison had signed their rights over to WB Anyway And that meant they could use it As they saw fit. Burnett And Alison had signed the rights over for I think $20,000 when they could not find A Broadway producer to put the play on. It is often cited that cast members of "Casablanca" were unaware that there had been A play - but then why should they have known?? As far As I can tell Alison is Always mentioned As the joint playwright - I have not found Anything that just has Burnet And not Alison. Here's looking At you, kid.
