Auditory Hallucinations

Synopsis:
Auditory Hallucinations is an interactive theatre production that explores the comfort we find within our own heads. Memories. Moments. Things that belong only to us. Creative Electric were awarded Quality Production funding from Creative Scotland to create an interactive piece exploring memories. Inspired by an artists debate in Stockholm in February 2012, where the idea of collecting performance art and moments was discussed, the company decided to explore whether it was possible to own another's moment and, in the case of verbatim theatre, their memory. The result is a little insight into a memory that the audience can share with performers. We'd love you to be a part of it. Auditory Hallucinations is a part of Creative Electric's emerging artists programme where the company aim to support artists at the early stage of their career with paid work and mentoring. This is the companies second emerging artists production.

Risk

Synopsis:
R I S K explores how we create through play. As children we play and create freely but as we grow we begin to create boundaries for ourselves, often influenced by both society and our peers. R I S K was a piece of contemporary performance with very few set boundaries. The cast worked to a score as opposed to a script or running order- they had several options of actions they could take at any point during the performance. They could of course choose to take a risk, ignore the score and create their own work on stage.

Heather Marshell, Creative Director: "The company were surprised and delighted by peoples' reactions, so many people wanted to give hugs, share their stories and make a connection. Their reactions have helped shape our production." Wonder has been informed by people from all walks of life who have dared to ask and answer the question 'What do you see when you look at me?'.
