Kitty And Damnation

Synopsis:
Irish playwright Joseph Crilly sets his new play at a key point in Irish history just after the Catholic Emancipation act has been passed in 1829 and opens it in Belfast where he presents it as a still contentious issue. However, although a petition against the act with its many signatures written on a great length of cloth is an important feature of his plot, this is not a political play. The fact that the eponymous Kitty is a Catholic doesn't stop the son of her village's best-off Protestant from wanting to marry her, nor does the fact that she's probably also been with most of the lads in the village.

On Mcquillan's Hill

Synopsis:
On McQuillan's Hill examines a number of traumatic days in the life of the hard-living, rural Ulster Maline family as Fra's early release from prison under the Good Friday agreement coincides with the return of his long-emigrated sister Marian to McQuillan's Hill. This combination of events proves explosive both for the siblings and those around them, as memories of old deeds mix with present-day revelations encompassing sex, love and sectarian violence in a small community.

Second-Hand Thunder

Synopsis:
Second-Hand Thunder is a drama that examines the interplay between the personal and the political in a small mid-Ulster town. Two pillars of the community - one a Protestant farmer, the other a Catholic solicitor - are locked in a deadly power struggle. When a young idealistic teacher attracts their attention through her cross-community work, a train of events is set in motion which haunts the community and the next generation to come.
