        Take Desire Away

Take Desire Away

Synopsis:
alfred Edward Housman (1859-1936) was an english classical scholar and poet, best known for his cycle of poems 'a Shropshire Lad'. He was the subject of Tom Stoppard's 1997 play 'the Invention of Love', described at the time as "the most emotionally powerful and enthralling play of his career". This new solo performance by' Yes Prime Minister' and 'the Bill' star Mansel David, is an exploration of the queer sensibility of Housman, using his own words, through his Poems and Letters - revealing a man of great emotional depth and also of surprising humour - which still speak to us directly today. . .
