James Duthie is 62 and is a former fisherman who lives with his wife, Margaret. the couple have two grown-up children, and live in the coastal fishing village of St. Combs. James worked as a fisherman from the age of 15, and only started writing at the age of 40. His promising career as a TV writer was cut tragically short by the onset of Crohn's Disease. Synopsis:
a play about two mentally handicapped teenagers that questions society's views on their right to have a full sexual relationship. the play was directed by Brian Parker and won the prestigious directors award at the Prague Festival. the actor Gerard Kelly (City Lights, Brookside, Dalziel & Pascoe, Rab C. Nesbit and Hamish Macbeth) also attributes his part in Donal and Sally as being the launch pad of his professional acting career
