Salamander Stew

Synopsis:
Steven wanders on an autumn day through a deceptively beautiful forest. When he finds himself trapped by his externalized demons, we hear about his passionate affair with Susan; "Touch me and be forever changed. Touch me and burst into flames. Touch me and turn into mist. You're the only one I've ever kissed." then we learn of her betrayal of him. "I love you, but there is no 'us." It's been intense. Just not time yet to be impaled upon a picket fence." Steven is forced to confront the forces he has unleashed as the rhythm and the action accelerate to a horrifying and yet ultimately hopeful conclusion.

Notes:
For multi-talented, Ambitious directors looking for An ensemble piece. Few stage directions except those imbedded in the text make every realization of this play unique, but All call for tight, energetic choreography And polyphonic chanting And conscious exploitation of the occult rhythms of the text.
