Baby Face

Synopsis:
A new New Zealand play, Baby Face was developed after reading a newspaper article about a group of Thai women workers being kept under lock and key in a clothing factory in suburban Auckland. Since then other stories about various sweatshops have come to light and been reported in local newspapers, one as recently as 2010. Inspired by these true stories, Baby Face is a play about migrant workers who have left their homelands in search of a better life. Set in a garment factory through the eyes of a group of young workers, we discover their experiences as they come together, struggling in an attempt to improve their future and make something of their lives.
