Kid 'A' Project: A Modern Christmas Tale, The

Synopsis:
The Kid 'A' Project imagines the story of Jesus's birth as if it were happening today. The Virgin Mary is an ardent environmentalist, Jesus is coming to save us from ourselves and our consumerist ways, God is known as The Big Cheese and runs his empire as if it were a modern-day corporation. There are original songs, dance numbers and a puppet show. Funny, irreverent and impassioned, the play was especially written for the students of Candlebark School, the Prep-Year 9 school founded and run by author John Marsden on his bush property in the Macedon Ranges. It has a variable cast size and is a good ensemble piece.

Notes:
Songs by Scott Hatcher, Taran Carter and Andre Hooke.
