Salus Populi Suprema Lex

Synopsis:
The play is set during Charles I's assault by Cromwell, and Kempinski livens up what could have been a dry textbook history lesson by having the entire saga seen through the eyes and lenses of a sharp-suited media, whose old-fashioned wet liberal matronliness is on the verge of state control. - Herald, Scotland

Separation

Synopsis:
Sharp New York humour matches intelligent British wit in this tender and funny play. Tom Kempinski's bittersweet transAtlantic love story tells of two people, from very different backgrounds, facing very different barriers and challenges to overcome. Joe Green is an unsociable, unproductive, and phobia-ridden writer, whose one-hit play leads him to become friends over the phone with a New York actress who is keen to stage his play, but who is also suffering from a paralysing disease. When Sarah finally arrives in London to take their relationship a bit further, Joe's neurotic nature almost - but not quite - kills the love affair completely

Workshop, The

Synopsis:
Set in the finishing room of a men's tailoring workshop in Paris after the last war. there is no plot as such; instead, the life ofthe workshop is shown gently unfolding over seven years from the immediate post-Liberation period through the rigours of rationing until 'reality' is restored-and it's business as usual. But the workshop's owner and one of his women employees are Jews, and underneath the cosy, bickering surface of workshop camaraderie the play powerfully depicts the tribulations of those Jews who have survived themselves but have lost loved ones: the process of leaming the meaning of the word 'deported: - Steve grant, Tinme Out
