Synopsis:
After a mix up between embryos in a research lab and those in a human fertility clinic a set of events take place which cannot be halted. Human-animal hybrid embryos become implanted and the subsequent offspring whose births are deemed illegal become hunted down the generations. Persecuted and reviled they live an existence in the shadows until they too start to stand up for their rights and march on Downing Street. This play spans several generations and asks the question 'what is it to be human?' What percentage of our DNA qualifies us as human? Is being human a matter of feeling and conscience or it is a matter of appearance?

After being arrested under suspicion for crimes he has not committed he finds himself locked up, straight jacketed and threatened with deportation to the Ukraine, a country he doesn't know. In the end his empire falls as rumours fly and the press and his former colleagues turn their backs on him, and he tells the story of how it all happened, and of his obsession with an exotic woman whom he has never met.

Notes:
This 15 minute play was written as a competition entry for the Soho Theatre Company in 1998. The play had to be based on a specific postcard showing a woman running across a square with a dog behind her.
Synopsis:
A man and a woman recall the day they met in a square after the woman's dog Jasper brings her newspaper over to Marcus on the other side of the square. They have already met once at a dinner party but were not able to exchange details and thought they would never meet again. In this play they are making tea in the kitchen and recalling that day.

group of inmates at the borstal (inmate 1 & 2 and lad), Borstal Officer
Notes:
Noted by the staff at Etcetera Theatre as Highlight of the Year in an interview with 'First Act'
Synopsis:
The story follows the paths of two disillusioned youths growing up in England spanning a period from the 1970's to the 1980's, with flashbacks to the 1960's. Peter, a young man just out of borstal meets a girl, Emily who has come from an abusive family background; He has been setting fires for kicks to vent his anger at the brutal life he has experienced and she has discovered the world of creative dance as a way out. They live parallel lives. Between the two they try to find a way through the tangle of raw emotions. However, the damage they've both experienced goes deep and they almost fail in their attempt to find love and acceptance. They are saved only by the mysterious workings of fate, in the form of a helper whose invisible presence they are unaware of, and despite the odds being stacked against the couple they somehow attain the goal they've been hoping for, and rise above the temptation to perpetuate their own destruction. This is a brutal and realistic play yet poetic and insightful.
