David Lefkowitz, born 23 January 1964, has hosted the weekly radio/podcast program, Dave's Gone By, since Oct. 2002. Former managing editor of Playbill.com, he founded TotalTheater.com, co-publishes Performing Arts Insider theater journal, and has written about the arts for Back Stage, Show Business. Playbill, and Long Island Pulse, among many others. His full-length plays include the award-winning Kandide, the Moliere-style farce, The Triple Wedding; the comedy-with-music, Shalom Dammit! an Evening with Rabbi Sol Solomon; and the award-winning solo, The Miracle of Long Johns. As an emcee, he hosted Stagebuddy Live, and he has performed stand-up comedy at NYs Brokerage Comedy Club. He holds two masters degrees, one in Dramatic Writing from NYU, the other in Theater Education from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), where he has taught playwriting and English Composition. His BFA is from NYU in Film and Television Production. Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, David Lefkowitz lives with his wife, Joyce Weil, and their many potatoes.
