Taken In

Synopsis:
after a party, Marc takes a walk on Hampstead Heath to clear his head. there he meets rent-boy Danny. they talk for a while but as Marc is not looking for sex Danny goes off. Next day, Marc realises that he has become infatuated with Danny and that night and the next three he goes to the spot where they met - but there is no sign of the boy. On his way home he, by chance meets Danny again. Marc tells him that he is not looking for sex but agrees to take Danny home for a bath and to wash his clothes as Danny sleeps rough. there is a serial killer at large who is murdering rent-boys and a friend of Danny's has been killed. Danny moves in with Marc after a client has beaten him up. However, Marc never fully trusts Danny - he wont give him a house key and he starts to try and control Danny's life. Despite all Danny's attempts to seduce Marc and the fact that they share the same bed - they still do not have a sexual relationship. One day, Danny telephones Marc at work and tells him that he has crabs and that Marc is probably infected too. Marc freaks out when he realises he is infected and will not believe Danny when he says he caught them fooling around with a friend. Marc has arranged for Danny to have a job interview to be an usher at a cinema. He gets the job. But after the row about crabs he does not come back for several days. Frantic, Marc starts to read Danny's notebook in the hopes that he can find out where Danny is. In the notebook Danny has been writing about his experiences. How he gave money to another rent-boy who had been so badly beaten he was unable to work. How a certain Labour Minister keeps turning up in his official car to pick up boys. He is just starting to read about himself when there is a ring at the door - it is Danny. But Danny has not come back to stay. He tells Marc that their relationship is impossible as Marc will not commit and always holds back. He points out that the "love of his life" that Marc always goes on about was only for three months. That, if Marc really wanted to be committed he would have given Danny a key to the house. and as Marc is so self centred he has not been able to notice all the things that Danny has done to make the relationship work - such as Danny giving up smoking and falling in with the no sex part of their relations. Marc desperately tries to keep Danny from leaving - they tussle and Danny gets knocked to the floor. Danny pretends to start to make amends but then abruptly leaves. there is a newspaper report that the serial killer was apprehended dumping the 11th victim in the Thames. the murderer is the Labour Minister. Marc thinks it must be Danny but later on Hampstead Heath he thinks that he sees him.
