Anna McCarthy is an actor and writer, currently studying Creative Writing at the University of Melbourne. Outside of Im Trying To Kiss You, she has performed with Self Cultivation, The Last Tuesday Society and Spill Collective. Other acting credits include To See Her at the Dog Theatre: a one woman show produced by Forty Forty Home. She performed with Sisters Grimm in The Rimming Club at This Is Not Art festival, and with Declan Greene in his play Pompeii, LA, which was performed at the R.E Ross Trust Readings at the State Library and at MKA theatre. She has trained with Kim Krejus at Brave Studios and has undertaken workshops with Tony Knight and Lucy Freeman, and also participated in a masterclass with acclaimed acting coach Ivana Chubbuck.

Synopsis:
Katie and Imogen are BFF's. BFF's 4 EVA. Nothing can tear them apart. Nothing. Nuh. No way. Not vodka raspberry's. Not the yarra river. Not Sportsgirl. Not Feminism. No way. BFF. F and F and F. Two childhood friends with nothing left in common strive to connect. A haunting insight into the bleak underbelly of female friendships, I Know There's A Lot Of Noise Outside But You Have To Close Your Eyes is an explosive exploration of femininity, prejudice and rage. With cocktails. Transforming a grungy Fitzroy sharehouse into an unsettling theatrical wasteland, A Lot Of Noise. . . is tipped to be one of the highlights of this year's Fringe Festival. Performed to a strictly limited audience, this unique work showcases some of Melbourne's most exciting young theatre artists.
