Great Ascent, The

Synopsis:
An explosion in Hyde Park, in which two people have been killed brings British Intelligence to investigate the action. A social-political thriller that explores prejudice and misunderstanding. Drama. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Tibet's Beckoning Soil

Synopsis:
An 89-year-old Tibetan woman, living in exile in the United States, wants to return to her native land in order to spend her last living moments. Her son, who is disinterested in his Tibetan heritage, opposes his mother's request. However, his sister (her daughter) is loyal and adheres to her mother's wishes. Obtaining a visa from China becomes a bureaucratic nightmare. Thus begins a round of conflict between the siblings and with the Chinese authorities. The brother, in a climactic moment of lost love, begins to rediscover his identity and embrace his Tibetan heritage. A play of finding identity in the heritage of the past. Drama. Recommended for age 13 and up. Mon. at 1 p.m.

Wagner and Levi

Synopsis:
Richard Wagner's attempt to have conductor Hermann Levi, the son of a Rabbi, be baptized before Levi is allowed to conduct the opera Parsifal provokes a chain of events that almost leads to Wagner's downfall. Can everyone be saved and redeemed? Parsifal the opera becomes Parsifal in real life.
