Synopsis:
The rehearsals for David Mercer's "The Party at the National come to life in piercingly funny detail in Building the Party, a 70-page documentary play script by Clive Merrison, Quilleys understudy. Merrison was so appalled by the iniquities of the Tories new Industrial Relations Act that 1973 radicalised and flushed me out politically. It was my 68. It was lots of actors 68 and the beginning of the left movement in Equity.
