Ed Monk teaches theatre at Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Virginia. He is also an alumnus of Chantilly, where he studied theatre under Elaine Wilson. He is the author of seventeen plays that have been published by Playscripts. He has been married to his perfect wife Grace for 23 years. Together they have produced 4 perfect children, Marley, Eddie, Maggie and Kelsey. His mother likes everything he writes.

At The Bottom of Lake Missoula

Synopsis:
After losing her entire family in a fatal tornado, Pam, a college sophomore, must embark on an unimaginable journey as she copes with her loss. To separate herself from her grief, she transfers schools and isolates herself from her fellow students, but these steps do not lessen her sadness and guilt over their deaths. Not until a fellow classmate makes an attempt at conciliation does Pam finally begin to realize that healing doesn't have to be a solitary endeavor. A moving exploration of the difficulty of continuing to live in the wake of great tragedy.

A group of actors rehearses a play within a play within a play. As the plot complications multiply, the actors begin to forget who is playing whom and who is the real director -- as opposed to the actor who is playing the director, or vice versa. Then they can't seem to remember who they really are, as opposed to the people they are playing in any of the various scripts. Then things start to get confusing. . .

Dinosaur from Planet X

Synopsis:
125 million years ago, Aloysius the dinosaur was taken from Earth to the famous Planet X Zoo. One day he escapes and returns to Earth, only to discover that dinosaurs are now extinct. Fortunately he makes friends with sisters Dakota and Raven, and winds up as the new star on PIG TV, a cable network run by the Three Pigs. But to stay on Earth, Aloysius has to avoid the Big Bad Wolf, the Space Zoo Rangers, and becoming trapped in a life he doesn't want.

Variations On A Theme

Synopsis:
Nick and Meg are high school sweethearts, but the night before Meg leaves for college they have a huge fight about trying a long-distance relationship. Nick comes to the train station to find Meg and see if he can fix things. While he waits for her to arrive, he imagines all of the different ways their conversation could go. The various people in the station act out what Nick is imagining as he tries to find the right words to save their relationship.
