David Ian Neville is a playwright and director. He trained in theatre in Edinburgh and has worked as an actor, writer, director and drama facilitator. Writing credits include: the Edinburgh Fringe First award-winning play, Exile (Edinburgh, King's Head & Bush Theatre, London): Dough (Oran Mor, Glasgow); Twelfth Day of July (TAG, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow) & Across The Barricades (TAG, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow & New Victoria Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent); A Deafening Silence (Byre Theatre, St Andrews); The Heart of The City & Coppelia(Proteus Theatre Co. He has also written storylines for Lynda La Plante's ITV series, The Governor; BBC Radio 4's The Archers; BBC Radio Scotland'sKilbreck; and BBC Radio Wales serial, Station Road. Theatre directing credits include: Exile (Fringe First Award); Kaddish For Pinter; & Just For A Laugh(Studio Earth Productions); and guest director for various companies including: Molecule Theatre of Science, London; Guizer Theatre, Aberdeen; The Warrington Community Play; West One Youth Theatre; and Artistic Director of Clerwood Theatre Co. Edinburgh. He has devised and run workshops for various companies and organisations including The British Council in Brazil. His work as a radio drama producer for the BBC includes: The Quest Of Donal Q by David Ashton with Brian Cox & Billy Connolly; Homeless by Gerda Stevenson; Greyfriars by Ronald Frame; the radio versions of Black Watch by Gregory Burke; Dunsinane and Midsummer by David Greig and Fallby Zinnie Harris; Behind Closed Doors by Clara Glynn; The Other Simenon by Georges Simenon, dramatised by Ronald Frame; The Inspector Dover dramas by Joyce Porter, dramatised by Paul Mendelson. He was also a producer/director on the long running serials, The Archers (BBC Radio 4) and Station Road (BBC Radio Wales). As an actor David has worked with various companies including: Clerwood Theatre Co. Edinburgh; Leaping Tiger /Cafe Graffiti, Edinburgh; Royal Lyceum Theatre Company, & Theatre Workshop, Edinburgh; and for BBC TV and STV. He has toured his one-man shows and performed as a clown/mime throughout the UK and abroad. His highest 'peak' as a performer was as a clown/mime for Virgin Atlantic on a flight to New York!
