The 2004/05 New York Theatre season saw two new plays by Mr. O'Malley produced on its stages: after Readings in five cites, his award-winning Mid-East Drama 'PARADISE' played to sold out audiences for its limited run in March at The Kirk Theatre on Theatre Row. It was produced by Gary Allen Productions and directed by the Author, and is being produced at theatres around the country. It is included in the anthology 'Plays and Playwrights 2006,'and will be published by Samuel French, Inc. "A Heartbeat To Baghdad" opened at The Flea Theatre, NYC in November 2004 directed by Obie Award winner Jim Simpson, and was Designated a "Blessing" of NY Theatre 2004 by CurtainUp. It, too, is receiving productions around the country. His first of this trilogy of 'war plays,'CONCERTINA'S RAINBOW' made him a 2001 Fellow at The Cherry Theatre, and was the hot of their 2001 season. It has subsequently been produced in a number of regional theatres, and published by Samuel French, Inc. Prior to this last season, other plays in development took their first steps toward production: BIG RED TRUCK - Reading - Epic Repertory Theatre at the Daryl Roth2Theatre; CAPPY'S FIELD - Reading - "Tongues" at The Cherry Lane Theatre and will be produced in New York in the 06/07 season by Gary Allen Productions.; PARADISE - The Lazarus New Play Prize, Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park. Readings at The New Theatre, Goral Gables, Florida; The Bendheim Center for the Performing Arts; The Player's Club, NYC, Florida International University; The Eccentric Theatre, Anchorage, AK. and MAMA LOVE - The Rattlestick Theatre, NYC. Other plays have been seen in New York at Playwright's Horizons, EST, Lincoln Center Institute, The Pheonix Ensemble, The Glines, The WPA, and internationally in Athens, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Vienna, and translated into Greek, German and Dutch. He's received a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship; Jerome Foundation award, The Last Frontier Theatre Conference Award, The Lazarus New Play Prize, and been nominated for "Newman's Own - PEN American First Amendment Award. From 1985 - 96 he was Associate Producer at the world renowned Vienna's English Theatre, Ltd. where he directed and produced many American plays with American companies. Prior to his tenure there, he was Edward Albee's Assistant for eight years, and went on to direct many of his works at the Author's request. In 1999, Mr. Albee allowed him to created ALBEE'S PEOPLE - a two part production comprised of ALBEE'S MEN and ALBEE'S WOMEN which premiered together at The Old Globe in San Diego. He was 206 Featured Artist at The Great Plains Theatre Conference, and serves on the New Play Panel for it. He's on The Artistic Advisory Board of The New Theatre, Coral Gables, Florida; a Fellow at The Cherry Lane Theatre, and 'Flea'at The Flea Theatre. He's Director of Education at the Cherry Lane Theatre Institute. He was Literary Director of The Edward F. Albee Foundation from 1976-90, Guest producer of Festival of New Plays at N.C. School of the Arts; Play Lab Adjudicator for The Last Frontier Theatre Conference, Valdez, AK., and will be a Featured Artist and Play Lab Panelist at The Great Plains Theatre Conference 2006. He currently teaches at Lehman College/CUNY, and Fordham University. He's been a Guest Artist or Visiting Professor at a huge range of institutions nation-wide - Harvard University, Austin Peay State University, Sarah Lawrence College, North Carolina School of the Arts, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Juilliard School, NYU/Tisch , to mention only a few. He was in residence at The Moscow Art Theatre where he wrote a documentary film - The Flight of The Seagull - about Chekhov and Stanislavski - and has lectured at The Czech Theatre Institute. He's a Member of The Dramatist Guild of America, and The Freedom-to-Write Committee, PEN American. He and his work have been written about extensively by such publications as The New York Times, American Theatre, The Los Angeles Times, Cincinnati Magazine - which called him 'the most talked to and talked about playwright in 2003,'The Washington Weekly Standard to mention a few. He's been featured on NPR many times, as well as on national television shows like 'The O'Reilly Factor,'and others. He was nominated for PEN American's 2004 'Newman's Own First Amendment Award'for 'Paradise,'and honored for PARADISE at A Master's Tea by Yale University. Two new works, 'Cappy's Field'and 'Good Night, Mr. Jefferson'are in development and slated for production in 06/07 in New York City.

Claire, a social worker, has come to an army base to work with support groups and individuals to find the best healing process for some soldiers who have returned from war and some families who continue to wait. Through the retelling of nine diverse stories, five soldiers and four family members give us a great sense of how much they sacrifice and suffer, directly and indirectly, at home and abroad, to uphold their sworn duty.
