He is an associate professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth U. His TV play, Rite of Passage, was done in the New Drama for TV at the O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference. Recipient: Rochester Civic Theater Playwriting Award; North Carolina School of the Arts Playwriting Award; Converse College Drama Award; James Helms Playscript Award; TRAV-TV Television Writing Award.

Last Supper, The

Synopsis:
Philip, about forty, plans to ask Laura, same age, to go away with him to Europe. Laura is fully prepared to leave her sterile marriage and spend the rest of her life with Philip but, during the evening, a strange crippled man comes out of the shadows in the back of the restaurant, claims to know them both, and so shatters the mood that Philip tells Laura that he is going to live in Rome alone, leaving her desolate. Setting: a fashionable restaurant, 1929

Nightsong

Synopsis:
Eric, a scientist, has worked hard to develop a substance to destroy the harmful insect in the world. He has also discovered that his poison kills helpful insects and that the harmful insects have developed strains too strong for his science. In his work, he has neglected Erna, his wife, who merely wants to live comfortably and be loved. As Eric confronts his failures, he also wants more and more to live and be loved, but he discovers that his neglect has so hardened Erna that she cannot give him the love he wants. He is left contemplating the super-strong insects he has helped produce. Setting: a home laboratory
