Provenance of Beauty, The

Synopsis:
the Provenance of Beauty is a poetic travelogue performed on a bus touring the South Bronx. Audiences experience it as passengers, looking through the windows, listening through headphones. the neighborhood, the central character in Provenance, is one of innumerable neighborhoods across the world in a state of transition. Poet Claudia Rankine's evocative text, delivered through live and recorded performances, points out and reflects upon the landscape as the bus travels through it, without stopping, for 90 minutes.
