STAN RICHARDSON's plays, which include Veritas, The Children (New York Musical Theatre Festival; with composer Hal Goldberg), and The Tale of the Good Whistleblower of Chaillots CaucAsian Mother and Her Other Children of a Lesser Marriage Chalk Circle (with composer Rachel Peters), have received workshops and readings at such venues as Second Stage, Ars Nova, Classic Stage Company, Dixon Place, PS122, The Brick Theatre and the New York Musical Theatre Festival. His play, Another Brief Encounter, was published in Plays & Playwrights 2007, available at NYTE.com. Veritas won a 2010 New York International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award and was given a 2010 Summer Festivals citation by Talkin' Broadway recognizing "new plays and musicals selected by our panel of jurors as ready to move to the next level of production and development (www.veritastheplay.com). An alumnus of NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, and Edward Albees Playwrights Workshop, Stan is a contributor to nytheatre.com and a proud member of The Dramatists Guild of America. He is also a founding member of The Representatives, producing apartment theatre and developing his new full-length plays in collaboration with actor/director Matt Steiner.

Standards of Decency Project

Synopsis:
Blue Coyote theater Group presents a program of nine new short plays that collectively the notions of decency and obscenity. the playwrights were asked to write a piece that includes at least one of these elements--nudity, blasphemy, and violence--in a manner that is fully warranted and justified (that is, that avoids mere gratuitousness or sensationalism), while also intended to offend conventional standards of decency. Blue Coyote says that it seeks to spark a discussion about the uses and abuses of transgressive performance onstage with this presentation.
