Freedom Daze

Synopsis:
Based on a true story. Brilliant scientist and activist Dr Aafia Siddiqui born in Pakistan but living in America comes under the scrutiny of government officials. She leaves the States with her husband and children. Back in Pakistan she divorces her husband and marries a nephew of an al-Qaeda leader. He gets arrested in the States and names Aafia as an agent information acquired under torture. Aafia is named by the US as the most dangerous woman in the world. The Americans manage to get hold of her and incarcerated her in Bagram Prison where she was tortured and raped. The Americans claimed she was not there but in hiding. In 2008 she "reappeared" and was arrested by the Americans and put on trial. Her sentence was 86 years in solitary confinement
