Synopsis:
The children who live at the last inn on the road to Bethlehem are having to work extremely hard because of the number of travellers. On the arrival of Roman soldiers, fed up with chivvying people along, the housekeeper decides to slaughter the old goat, Phoebe, to provide stew. Timothy, the goat boy, is distraught and the children determine to save Phoebe. Later in the evening a man arrives with a pregnant wife and an obstreporous donkey. The children sorry for the woman, persuade the innkeeper to let the couple stay in the stable with Phoebe, moving the donkey into Phoebe's pen - and giving the housekeeper a shock when she goes to slaughter the goat at dawn! Truth About George, The

Synopsis:
For years the townspeople have been regularly sending seven maidens to be sacrificed to the dragon on the mountain above their homes. Legend has it that there will be dire consequences if they don't. Maidens, however, are becoming much more assertive these days and this year's chosen girls decide it is time things were changed. Faced with this problem the Mayor and citizens send for Young George, the dragon-slayer's grandson, in the hope that dragon killing is a hereditary skill. But the George they have summoned does not turn out to be all they had expected - and neither does the dragon. Catchy songs, a chorus of little dragons and lots of fun contribute to this new look at an old tale.

Wherever There's A Dream

Synopsis:
A family of five children have come into the town, homeless, parentless and starving through no fault of their own. They end up in the Workhouse, with their days spent working on the new railway or gutting herring. Life is so awful they decide to run away but end up in prison. Finally, with a bit of help from a gang of pickpockets, they spend Christmas with the Marrington family and the play ends with a happy Victorian Christmas, carol singing and mince pies.
