Synopsis:
If you want to see the prime minister alive again, youd better do what I say!If youre a disillusioned teenager and you feel you have no chance of getting a place at University, a job when you leave school or that you will ever be able to afford to buy a house, theres not a lot you can do about it is there? Its ok, because thirteen year old Lucy has a plan. Shes going to kidnap the prime minister and make him put everything right again. That should do the trick. Writing to the prime minister pretending to be a sick child who dreams of meeting him, Lucy carries out her unimaginable, dastardly plan. But has she taken it all a bit too far and can her friends help her find a better way to make a difference? Kidnapping Cameron is a hilariously funny play that takes a serious look at the role young people can play in democracy and deciding their own future in todays uncertain times.

North West professional playwrights collective the Alligator Club is set to stage a festival of short plays inspired by music at the Studio at Manchesters Royal Exchange Theatre on July 19-20. Pages From My Songbook is billed as a mix tape of theatre, with 18 short plays featuring live music, all the length of a song, which explore love, life, loneliness and lager. Against the backdrop of a dusky festival night, it will immerse the audience in stories that blur the lines between a theatrical and festival experience, as short stories and musicians evoke the spirit of a festival.
