Milton Hood Ward

MILTON HOOD WARD  (? - 2002?)

Nationality:    USA
email:    n/a     Website:    n/a

Literary Agent:    n/a

Milton Hood Ward was primarily in business as a fund raiser with offices at the Plaza Hotel in New York and at the very end of his business career he was at the Waldorf Astoria. He wrote a few plays, unpublished and staged at his own expense as vanity productions except for KINDLY MONKEYS which was produced in London, England, to generally poor reviews. He also wrote eccentric pornographic adventure novels with an East Indian orientation that were published by Lyle Stewart. My father was Vice-President of his fund-raising company for decades and I knew him well. I worked as stage manager on one of his plays that he staged himself in NY. Some of the actors that were in it are known, including George Loros who starred on TV in "The Sopranos" and two others who worked with Sidney Lumet. Another actor had scenes in a play opposite Ingrid Bergman and a film opposite Bibi Anderson, of Igmar Bergman fame. At one point, Milton was in meetings about making a film of his play, KINDLY MONKEYS with John Saxon and Steve McQueen. Nothing actually developed. Milton is dead. He has two sons. - Arlene Harriet Paige
