Bench         Flaneurs         Giving Up the Ghost         How You Gonna Live Your Dash         I'm Feeling Bleached         Little Vikings are Never Lost

Bench

Synopsis:
My thought processes are most prolific when I am waiting, waiting in mundane environments, waiting for people, buses, my hair to dry, my dinner to cook, queuing, queuing always queuing and waiting for my real life to begin. Bench is a way to record these moments, this waste of time, my small revolt against time and the non-places that occupy my life.

Flaneurs

Synopsis:
Flaneurs seeks to explore the oppressive nature of violence in public spaces, from a pedestrian subway in Edinburgh to London's Overground. Drawing upon the practice of psycho-geography and real accounts of violent acts, Flaneurs seeks to expose and challenge the social psychological phenomenon of the 'bystander apathy': the larger the crowd witnessing a violent act, the less likely it is that anyone will intervene. . .

Giving Up the Ghost

Synopsis:
Giving Up the Ghost is the story of a girl who is haunted by the grudges of her past. Filled with resentment she struggles to express herself with words and so creates images using lemons, soil and a trampete. This highly visual and theatrical piece of work explores the gradual breakdown of a familial relationship and its bitter effects. Influenced by the work of Marina Abramovic, Lewis Caroll and Satre, Giving Up the Ghost reminds us of the sound, memory, feeling and taste of a bitter grudge.

How You Gonna Live Your Dash

Synopsis:
One of Scotland's most visionary theatre makers, Jenna Watt, presents her latest performance following the award-winning Flaneurs. This shattering piece explores the life-altering decisions people make in order to get the most out of their time on earth: giving up a high-flying career, confronting an addiction, dropping it all and moving to a new continent. Based on real life testimonies and featuring beautiful pyrotechnic effects, this epic performance looks at the moment we choose to detonate our own lives, the smokey fall out and how we piece together a new future.

I'm Feeling Bleached

Synopsis:
I'm Feeling Bleached is a piece of live art which may be developed into a piece of theatre, it stems from the distinct belief we have as children that anything is possible, and how we tragically lose this in adulthood as our memories bleach and fade. This piece was influenced by personal memories and also J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan.

Little Vikings are Never Lost

Synopsis:
Inspired by sweeping Norwegian landscapes and contemporary Scandinavian music, Little Vikings Are Never Lost is an original theatrical event, within which the audience inhabit an installed other-world. A young woman wanders through an entirely fabricated environment, surrounded by trinkets, odd objects and surreal constructions. We meet her in a place to lose oneself in, or, as it transpires, a place to run away. Holding herself responsible for a tragedy in her childhood, the woman, Siv, constructs a world for herself - a surreal and absurd landscape that grows and becomes a model for life. When the anonymous letters begin to arrive, Siv's world comes under threat from intrusions both comforting and tormenting, reminders of a journey she has been trying to forget. Siv begins to realise she can't be lost forever. Someone knows where she is, and someone is coming to get her. Drawing on contemporary visual and conceptual art, Little Vikings are Never Lost is a solo performance devised and performed by Jenna Watt. Using elements of physical theatre and strong imagery, Jenna Watt is an emerging artist whose first solo piece, BENCH, was presented at the National Review of Live Art.
