Tom started out as a singer-songwriter in PhiladelphiA. He recorded his first album "Gay Name Game" in 1979, which was one of the first gay-themed records. He sang at bars, coffeehouses and gay pride rallies, releasing a second album "All-American Boy" in 1982. At the time he and his lover John Whyte were living in Minneapolis and Tom adopted his grandfather's name Weinberg, becoming Tom Wilson Weinberg. In Minneapolis he staged musical revues based on his material, including songs from his two albums. In 1984 Tom and John moved to Boston where Tom wrote "Ten Percent Revue" which was staged by actor/singer Joey Brandon. It was an immediate hit and has appeared all over the States and in BarcelonA. Tom's song "Lesbian Seagull" was featured in the film "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" sung by Englebert Humperdinck. the the soundtrack went platinum and was in the Billboard chArts for 21 weeks. Other musicals include "Get Used To It," "the Teachings of Chairman Rick," "the Marriage of Bruhs and Gean," and "Sunrise At Hyde Park," currently in development with Peggy Stafford (book) and Darren Katz (director). Tom's honors include the Bessie Smith Award (Boston), two Los Angeles Drama-logue Awards. the Golden Gull (Provincetown) and OUTmusic Heritage Award (New York).

Sunrise At Hyde Park
Lorena Hickok reporter for Associated Press is sent in 1932 to interview Eleanor Roosevelt wife of the governor of New York State. Neither women wanted to do it. They instantly become friends and possibly lovers. Over the following years they have a passionate correspondence with each other. 1962 and a young curator, Ray Corry, at the Roosevelt Museum puts pressure on the aged Lorena Hickok to donate the letters. Reading the letters changes Ray's life
