Flash, Bam, Alakazam         Hello Darkness My Old Friend         Some People Talking

Flash, Bam, Alakazam

Flash, Bam, Alakazam
Elsie, an elderly widow, lives alone and avoids socialising with her neighbours, believing "it doesn't do, to get involved." then a new couple, Kate and Adrian, move in across the road and their young son Jamie invites Elsie round for tea. Soon the pair are inseparable, with Elsie being drafted in as babysitter whenever Kate and Adrian are out. When Jamie strays too close to the garden pond Elsie acts on her instincts to keep him safe, but his parents are appalled and Elsie's misgivings about ever letting her guard down are reinforced.

Some People Talking

Synopsis:
Scarborough writer Sue Wilding, herself an accomplished actress, brings to the stage a multitude of characters, all played by the same four actors. Through them, and in a variety of simply evoked settings, we see the joy, disappointment and desolation that comes to us all the minute we enter relationships. An emotional roller coaster ride will have you in turn laughing, crying, sympathetic and angry, but always involved in this carefully crafted piece which keeps us enthralled and guessing right to the end.
