I was born and raised predominantly in San Francisco, California (although I spent three years and most of my summers in a very small town at the base of the Sangre De Cristo mountains in southern Colorado). I got my undergraduate degree in Theater Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz and followed that up, a few years later, with an MFA from the Brown/Trinity Rep program in Providence, Rhode Island. The teachers who have had the most profound impact on me were my MFA acting teachers Brian Mc Eleney and Annie Scurria, as well as my beloved clown teacher, Jane Nichols. All three of them were tremendously good at pushing me towards all things terrifyingly human and therefore true and often funny. As far as my most important playwriting credits go, this play is the first and only play that I have ever written and, therefore, very much my favorite! I've mostly focused on acting and puppeteering thus far, so my credits in those fields are a bit more extensive. The "Best One Woman Comedy" award that I received for this play is my first award to date (aside from a hand-drawn "Tony Award" that my best friend Karl made for me!).
