Born in Rochester, NY on January 15, 1950. B.A. in English, Mills College, 1970; M.F.A. in Writing, Columbia University, 1976. Poems published in: Partisan Review, New Letters, Kayak, Epoch and many others. Worked for four years as an editor and radio producer for Black Box Magazine, Watershed Tapes (series of contemporary poets reading their own work on cassette tapes), The Poem That Never Ends, a series of programs on contemporary U.S. poetry for public radio. Mobile Homes

Synopsis:
Three American Scenes: The action follows a thirty-year-old waitress and former rock singer, Ava, who decides to leave her home and family in Baltimore where her life has come to a standstill and travel across the country to make an audition set up for her at a club in San Francisco. The play is about taking responsibility for one's own actions, about the pain of leaving home, the limbo of being on the road and the difficult joy of beginning again.

Rock Island

Synopsis:
The time is 1936 in the Dust Bowl, on a Rock Island Railroad right-of-way along the Oklahoma-Arkansas border. Five American types" (former IWW man, would-be starlet, itinerant female soapboxer, former ringmaster with PT. Barnum, newspaperman from Trenton) wait to hop a train west. They become involved with each other as a Drama unravels involving the discovery, capture and escape of the former IWW man, who has dynamited a border post set up to collect revenues from itinerant farmers.
