Zanahorias (Carrots)

Zanahorias (Carrots)

Synopsis:
The show explores the controversy and contradictions that arise when lack of talent and virtue become a virtue in their own right. Zanahorias (Carrots) takes place at the end of the 18th century in Puritania, an imaginary kingdom that, in our real world, would have many things in common with pre-revolutionary France. In Puritania, dialectical battles and the coarsest acts occur daily. Thus, the most depraved holds the higher social status. . . but thanks to Madame of the Sacred Heart's talent for manipulation and disguise, this is about to change. Heads will roll, yes. The controversial Marquises and Countesses that inhabit the play could be easily compared to today's media circus, socialites, and clueless heiresses. Let's not mention names. That would be gossiping. Zanahorias (Carrots) is a period piece in essence and style, and a pop culture celebration in the making. Think of Dangerous Liasons reinvented through today's eyes: same kind of backstabbing with slightly more lavish costumes. But, the carrots: what's their significance? Come taste for yourself The Forbidden Vegetable, though some things are better left untouched FOREVER.
