Lissa Benyon began her theater career as a member of the Canberra Youth Theatre, and was a founding member of the experimental ensemble Fools Gallery Theatre Company. Lissa left the company in 1981 to concentrate on full-time writing. Her writing career was launched with The Women of March the First, performed at Nimrod (now Belvoir Street) in 1984. She has since co-written Resistance, a feature film for the Macau Light Collective; and written plays The Margarine Conspiracy, The Real Matilda and Pennies Before the Holidays.

Synopsis:
A mother of seven, and compulsive shoplifter, sets out on an epic quest for identity, self-knowledge and fulfilment. She is pointed along the way by meetings with other women, including those from her own past. Finally she is able to go back home... if she has ever really been away. Contains some songs.
