Dogs of War         Eve of Ides

Dogs of War

Synopsis:
Using the original text of Shakespeare's Wars of the Roses plays alongside new text by The Master of Verona author David Blixt, the play features oft-cut scenes of soldiers, citizens, women, children and ghosts to re-examine representations of war via the bodies of common people. A chorus acts as guide and provocateur as he navigates the audience through the underbellies of some of the Bard's most famous plays, including Henry V and Richard III. With an ensemble of sixteen portraying more than three dozen different characters, Dogs is a strikingly contemporary, multimedia incarnation of the history canon.
