Merlinda Bobis is a Philippine bilingual writer, performance artist and academic now living in Australia. She has published four poetry books and has performed her poems in Australia, Philippines, France and China. Her theatre works have been produced in the Philipines and Australia. She received the 1998 AWGIE Award and the 1995 Ian Reed Radio Drama Prize for Rita's Lullaby. Her short fiction also won Australian competitions in 1997 and 1998. Her latest book of poetry was short listed for the 1998 The Age Poetry Book Award

Synopsis:
