Tereza Briggs-Novaes was born in Rio de Janeiro and has a Bachelor degree in Drama from the University of Rio de Janeiro. She's been working as an actress, director, and playwright for the last 30 years. She worked in Brazil with Augusto Boal, Zé Celso Martinez Correia and Luiz Mendonça. In London she trained with Desmond Jones & Phillipe Goulier, as well as directing many plays. Since 2004 she's been running 'Theatre of the Oppressed' workshops in different cities in Europe and Brazil.
