Chris studied Theatre Arts at Birmingham University before embarking on a career that straddles Theatre, the media world and education. He was artistic director of 'Flying Pig Theatre-in-education Company' for four years (writing eight plays for youth), worked as a producer for TV-am, contributed to Radio 5's educational programming, produced radio advertisements, and was Head of Performing Arts at Barnet College. His Theatre writing credits include: 'Girls Who Wear Glasses' , a jazz cabaret (National tour), 'Dishonorable Ladies', a one woman show for Honor Blackman, (National tour, and West end); book and lyrics for 'tales My Lover Told Me' (King's Head Theatre, Islington); book and lyrics for 'the Last Fattybottypuss in the World' (Regent's Park Open air Theatre); book for 'It's Only Make Believe' (Gatehouse Theatre, Highgate). He wrote book and lyrics for 'me & Shahrazad' which received a workshop at South Bay Playhouse, Los Angeles and the Theatre Museum, Covent Garden. His play 'sophie Tucker's One Night Stand' received a production at the New end Theatre, Hampstead, and then transferred to the Kings Head Theatre, Islington. He has completed book, music and lyrics for 'sleeping arrangements', based on the novel by Madeleine Wickham. Currently developing a new musical with music by Denise Wright: 'Death and Plenty', based on the novel by Brian Leyden. His TV writing credits include episodes of the Carlton soap opera 'London Bridge.' His radio writing credits include a five part Drama serial for Radio 4 'the Invincible Violet' starring Sylvia Syms, broadcast in July 2004.

Devilish!

Synopsis:
An angel crash-lands in Clapham. He is embraced by mercenary forces in the madness of metropolitan London, 2016. How long before he is corrupted by the devilish delights on offer? It's Pinocchio meets The Picture of Dorian Gray - with jazz hands! This cartoonish comedy features a score crammed with upbeat songs aiming to prove that the devil doesn't have all the best tunes. DEVILISH! was inspired by John Ruskin's remark that an angel appearing on earth would be shot on sight. H.G Wells wrote a novel called The Wonderful Visit based on this observation but now a new team of writers offer their take on this premise for the twenty-first century.

Sleeping Arrangements

Synopsis:
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, Sleeping Arrangements tells the tale of Chloe who desperately needs a holiday. She's sick of making wedding dresses and her partner, Philip has troubles at work. Her wealthy friend Gerard has offered the loan of his luxury villa in Spain - Perfect. Hugh is not a happy man. His immaculate wife Amanda seems more interested in her new kitchen than him and he works so hard to pay for it, he barely has time for his children. Maybe he'll have a chance to bond with them on holiday. His friend Gerard has lent him a luxury villa in Spain - Perfect. Both families arrive at the villa and realise the awful truth - Gerard has double-booked. What no-one else realises is that Chloe and Hugh have a history, and as tensions rise, old passions resurface. It seems that Gerard's 'accidental' double booking may not be an accident after all. . .

Notes:
the Confessions Of A Shopaholic novel was adapted into a film released in 2009, starring Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy but this will be the first of Sophie's popular books to be adapted for the stage. Sophie KinsElla said I am so excited to see my story on stage in such a hilarious and tuneful musical.
