Thirteen Hallucinations Of Julio Rivera, The

Synopsis:
Julio Rivera was a gay bartender who lived in Jackson Heights. In the early hours of July 2nd 1990 on his way home from work he was set upon by the self styled gay bashing gang "the Doc Martin Stompers". as he lay dying he was discovered by his lover of nine years who cradled him until he was dead. the police decided that it was a drug deal gone wrong but gay activists took up the case. the result was that hate crime laws were introduced into New York City.
