Dont Take It Personally

Synopsis:
Part of Tiny Plays for Ireland: Fishamble, in partnership with the Irish Times, asked the Irish public what can be achieved with three minutes of stage time, what are the issues that need to be addressed, and who are the people that should be brought to life in the theatre? Fishamble received over 1,700 plays from every county in Ireland and many countries beyond. Tiny Plays for Ireland combines selected works by members of the public and dramas by some of Ireland's best loved writers to provide one dramatic picture of Ireland at the crossroads.

Under Pressure

Synopsis:
UNDeR PReSSURe dramatises a Senior Counsel's intense consultation with her client, a surgeon, accused of the murder of his wife. Was it an accident or did he kill her on purpose? What is the prosecution offering the defence? What will the dead wife of the accused say? This very modern one act play will give Bewleys lunchtime audience an inside view of what it's like to be in the eye of the storm just before a trial for murder, when everyone involved is under immense pressure.

Notes:
Starring Geoff Minogue, one of Irelands most popular and attractive leading actors (who plays Tommy Dillon in Fair City) alongside Ceire O'Donoghue and Deborah Pearce, and directed by emer Halpenny, this new play is written by barrister and author Rachel Fehily. Rachel knows from experience what really happens during criminal trials guaranteeing an authentic and interesting show. Ceire ODonoghues performance as a Senior Counsel advising an arrogant eNT surgeon of his options for his upcoming trial for murder is both convincing and dynamic. We dont normally hear from the victim during murder trials so Deborah Pearces thoughtful portrayal as the ghost-wife of the accused adds to the mystery. Where would you place the blame?
