In My Free Time I Self-Destruct

Synopsis:
This is from the press release: "Taking a cue from industrial fans, the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster, and bowler hats, Gary Ferrar's most recent works challenge our perceptions of history, dramaturgy, and the concept of theater itself. In three diverse pieces, through the incorporation of multimedia and meta-theatre, he breaks down the fourth wall and brings you deep into the humanity, humor, and surreality of the hyper-aware mind."

Wild Blue

Synopsis:
The Hyper aware Theater Company presents its newest work, Wild Blue, the story of Jet Blue flight attendant Steven Slater, by Gary Ferrar and Louis aquiler, both recipients of the Philip Rosenthal Grant for Comedy. Loosely based on The Wizard of Oz, Wild Blue imagines the hysterical and haunting moments that caused Steven Slater to curse out passengers over the intercom, slide down the emergency slide, and become an instant Facebook sensation. In the second act, Steven escapes to a cabin near the Canadian border, inhabited by famed 1970s airline hijacker/outlaw D. B. Cooper. In this backwoods version of Oz, Steven assumes the role of Dorothy while D. B., as the Wizard, questions whether their actions are "the only sane reaction to an insane society."
