A British playwright of Palestinian/Irish descendants. An award-wining writer, Hannah's first short play, Ring, was selected for the Soho Theatre's Westminster Prize and her first full- length piece, Leaving Home, was staged at The King's Head. A commission for Rose Bruford at Battersea Arts Centre followed, and Hannah subsequently received support from The Peggy Ramsay Foundation to write Stolen Or Strayed, which received a Special Commendation in the Verity Bargate Award. Further work includes Plan D, which was produced at Tristan Bates Theatre and was nominated for the Meyer Whitworth Award and Hannah has worked with the National Theatre Studio, Royal Court (Young Writers' Programme) and Tinderbox Theatre in Belfast. Most recently Hannah's play Bitterenders, a black comedy about a Palestinian family in Jerusalem who are forced to share their house with Israeli settlers, won Sandpit Arts' Bulbul 2013 competition and was staged at The Nightingale in Brighton. Her monologue The Worst Cook in the West Bank was performed as part of an evening of short plays about Arab women in the Arab Spring at the Old Red Lion in London and the Unity Theatre as part of the Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival. Hannah also writes for the radio, The Deportation Room, about the treatment of Gazans in Cairo airport, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 autumn 2012, while play Last of the Pearl Fishers aired on BBC Radio 4 in January 2015. She has just finished writing her first short filmThe Record, and is currently developing an idea with BBC Drama for BBC One.

Synopsis:
an Iraqi man living in London needs to find the money for pioneering eye surgery for his young daughter. a Filipino maid working in the Uae returns home to have her illegitimate child, but realises she can't leave him and instead goes to Britain in the hope of being able to keep her baby. Through the interweaving of these two stories Leaving Home explores the experiences of immigrants trying to live in London.

Synopsis:
Stolen or Strayed tells the story of Maria, a woman in her sixties who resides in a London nursing home. She is cared for by Peter, a nurse who has left his own mother in a similar position in his native Ireland. as the dementia she is suffering from takes over, the audience is given glimpses of Maria's past, through the lens of her slowly disintegrating mind. She remembers nursing her disabled daughter and her job washing clothes at a private boarding school where she developed a close friendship with a young arab Prince. When the same Prince comes to find her all these years later is Maria dreaming? and what could he want from her after all this time?

a 20 minute play about a young woman who is dying of cancer. She wants to believe in God so climbs Mount Sinai in the hope she will find faith at the top. She does not, but instead meets a cynical Bedouin who helps her back down. This short play explores the gulf between racial stereotypes and reality through the gradual understanding of two people.
