BRYDIE LEE-KENNEDY

Nationality:    Australian
email:    n/a     Website:    n/a

Literary Agent:    Knight Hall Agency Ltd

Brydie is a displaced Australian writer, performer and professional bangthropologist living in London and complaining about the weather exactly the same amount as every other Australian living in London. Since 2009, Brydie has toured her sketch, cabaret, improv and children's shows (yes, she's entertained children, no, she doesn't like to talk about it) to The Adelaide Fringe, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, The Sydney Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Brighton Fringe and many, many cities and towns in between. She is best known as the writer, director and mermaid of Princess Cabaret, which earned accolades worldwide for its satirical take on the Disney Princesses and as the vice-y half of cabaret duo Sugar & Vice. In 2014, she launched her first solo hour, Brydie Lee-Kennedy Repeats On You, which Broadway Baby called "Sophisticated, well-crafted and touching storytelling from a woman who's lead a life less ordinary". She followed up in 2015 with Brydie Lee-Kennedy Loves You Too, described by Chortle as "A delightful thing that wears its intelligence lightly". Brydie has written extensively for television and other media in Australia and the UK. She is currently the sex and dating correspondent for SBS Comedy (Australia) and the Offbeat Content editor at What Culture (UK). She is also the executive producer of Gatecrash, a podcast network based in London, on which she co-hosts 2 shows. She's working on a number of projects including a comedy pilot featuring an updated version of the "gay guy and his straight best girlfriend" trope, a musical about the wives of Henry VIII and a recipe for making tofu delicious without deep-frying it.
