Rachael Migler is a writer based in New York City. Her musical LYSISTRATA NOW: SEX, WAR and WASHINGTON was commissioned and produced by Alias Stage. Her children's musical LITTLE PINKIE inaugurated the Playwrights Horizons Theater School children's wing. It was developed at and produced by the Hangar Theatre, as was her second children's musical MAGIC HAT. Her new musical BROOKE had its first developmental reading June, 2012 and was part of the Primary Stages/ESPA Playwriting Festival. She and nine other writers created OCCUPY: THE MUSICAL at Primary Stages/ESPA. Her play JUPITER BLUE was performed in the Ensemble Studio Theater Octoberfest, as well as at the Samuel Beckett Theater and Hangar Theater. Other works: MY FELLOW AMERICANS (New City Directors' Festival/ Seattle, Hangar Theater) and A DOLCE VITA (Double Image Short-Play Festival, Drama League Director's Showcase, Hangar Theater). One-acts include THE TORTURER'S VISIT, CAPTAIN JIM and MAGIC FINGERS. Her one-act BEFORE THE CHICKEN won a Judy Lee Playwriting prize at the University of Pennsylvania (Ramon Delgado, judge). For her journalism, she was named a National Magazine Award finalist. Rachael has been an adjunct professor at New York University in the school of journalism, an associate editor at Philadelphia magazine and a contributing editor at Lexus magazine. She is the founding editor of eMitz.com. Her freelance articles have appeared in Rolling Stone, GQ and elsewhere. She has been a literary scout for Columbia Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Rachael is graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Playwrights Horizons Theater School. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
