Cricklewood Cowboys

Synopsis:
Cricklewood Cowboys tells the story of a group of Irish emigrants working on the building sites in London in the 1970's. It examines in a 'warts and all' detail, the construction industry over a period of twenty years. 'The Lump' has always had its fair share of characters and chancers - and more that its fair share of accidents. The play casts a beady eye on the proceedings in a darkly humorous fashion. There's Johnjo; ignorant and unskilled, Bannaher; the big man, the subby, Larry and Terry; the chancers, Dougie; whose temporary home is a coffin, Father Maguire; who might be more at home swinging a pick that his rosary beads, and of course the long-suffering women; Tessa and Bernie.

Money from America

Synopsis:
Money from America centres around the return of Jack Carey to his home farm from America. Having subsidised his brother Lardy over the years with money from America, Jack has returned to stake his rightful claim on the farm as elder brother. However, Lardy proves less than willing to give way to change, having lived a solitary life of poteen-manufacturing with only Molly the pig farmer for company. When Jack's fiancee Phyllis arrives from Dublin to set things right tempers flare and secrets are spilled. When Jack is subsequently murdered the questions the police are asking are two-fold - Who? and. . . Why?

Pecker Dunne -Last of the Travellers

Synopsis:
A play with music about the travelling musicians of Ireland, mostly concentrating on Pecker Dunne and Margaret Barry. They were both from travelling families, Tinkers, and were marginalised by Irish society. Looked down on, indeed persecuted for their way of life. Both were great singers and musicians, and along with the great Johnny Doran, did more to promote Irish traditional music than almost any other person of our times. Both are dead now and the play is set in a kind of imaginary 'halting site', where departed souls are temporarily resident while awaiting transport to somewhere permanent.
