Richard Ragoobarsingh is a playwright who currently resides in Arima, Trinidad, West Indies (Caribbean). He is also an accomplished actor, director and producer of plays under the production company Ragoo Productions/RR productions. Plays to his credit as a playwright include "Mary Could Dance", "the Breaking of Lord Harris", "Lucky" aka "Lotto Madness" aka "Sex, Lies and Money", "One Night Stand" and "the Stranger". He has also written screenplay versions of the plays "Mary Could Dance" and "the Breaking of Lord Harris". Mr. Ragoobarsingh has won Cacique Theatre Awards for Best Original Script twice, for the highly acclaimed "Mary Could Dance" and "One Night Stand". His plays have all been finalists in the Best Original Script Category. He has won the Best Actor Cacique (four times), Best Supporting Actor (twice), Best Sound Design (four times), Best Set Design (once) and Best Director (once). He has been a multiple nominee in all categories.

Breaking of Lord Harris, The

Synopsis:
A drag queen takes in a young boy who has run away from home despite objections from his best friend and his brother. the very religous Father pursues his son and gets him back and the drag queen "Marlene" is arrested since it turns out the boy has been sexually assaulted. But who has done it? the drag queen is exonerated but meets once again with the boy in the park where they first met and all is revealed in a thrilling climax where the park is surrounded by religious fanatics.

Lucky

Synopsis:
A wife gets word through rumor that her husband has won the Lotto. He denies it and thereafter a game of cat and mouse begins leading to the hiring of a somewhat eccentric private investigator. What he finds out leads to marital crisis and twists that leaves an audience gasping. Mix in an inquisitive maid and the confusion leads to everyone becoming obsessed with whether the winning ticket really exists and who has it. Surprise ending.

Mary Could Dance

Synopsis:
A young girl has become a stripper/prostitute in city after being a promising folk dancer of her small town. Her first and true love returns from the United States where he had migrated with his family 11 years earlier. His entry into her life now and the club where she works provides a catalyst for sometimes volatile examination of their respective lives and her close friends in her 'new life'. She gets her fairy tale in the end after several obstacles, even though it turns out to be shortlived.

One Night Stand

Synopsis:
A professional woman attending her younger sister's wedding invites one of the male dancers back to her apartment for a private job. She wants sex he doesn't. A turbulent and sometimes violent night leads to startling revelations about themselves. their connection seems long lasting despite obstacles and progresses to a certain degree of stability and love and is then interrupted.
